Setting Food Out in the Long Hall (25 April)

[13:05] Chaton Noir: ~crawls out of the furs into the crisp morning air, stretches and yawns, standing she stumbles down the steep stairs throws on a kirtle and makes her way to the bakery where she has a bowl of slavebrei and some bosk milk afterwhich she goes to the gardens and harvest what she'll need for the day, sa tarna, suls, sugar cane, milk and eggs and bosk dung for the fire. then hefting the heavy load she goes back to the bakery.~

[13:12] Chaton Noir: lights a fire and first boils a large pot of water to make blackwine for the sleepy Free when they get up, carrying the pot of fresh blackwine to the longhall and sits it in the kitchen. going back she takes another large pot and mixes sa tarna and milk enough to make plenty of slavebrei for her sisters next mixing a large bowl of bread dough she fills three pans and places them in the oven to make sa tarna bread~

[13:18] Chaton Noir: ~pulling the pans from the oven she sits them on the counter to cool thens adds oil to a skillet and fries a bunch of fish fillets, bosk steaks and roasts three vulos, slicing them up she places them on separate platters and begins to carry all but the gruel to the longhall, arranging it neatly on the tables also setting out a larma pie she baked the night before, finally she goes back to the bakery and cleans up her mess~

Preparing Meals (23 April)

[14:20] Chaton Noir: ~she sat up stretching her arms and yawning deeply, stubled out the door and made her way slowly to the bakery where she had a big bowl of gruel and some bosk milk. full, she walked out the heavy gate, crossed the bridge and started her day picking vegetables, knowing what she needed she picked a lot of sa tarna, sugar cane and various other items then going back to the village and milking the bosk and collecting eggs, that along with what was there already and she was set to cook~

[14:29] Chaton Noir: ~lighting a fire she mixed up corn and milk in a large pot stirring it together well and sat it on the fire, next, in a small bowl she mixed up dough for pie crusts, mixing milk, butter, mehl and eggs together and kneading the dough then rolled it out and fit it into two pie pans adding the cherry mixture of cherries and sugar, opened the oven door and placed them inside~


[14:35] Chaton Noir: ~removing the pot of gruel from the fire she emptied the contents into a large bowl for she and her sisters to feed from that day. next she sliced a bosk brisket and laying the slices on a platter along with larma, tospit and kalana she sat it on the long table to carry to the long house later, along with sa tarna bread fresh from the oven. removing the pies she sat them out to cool on the table and began to clean up her mess, washing the dishes and wiping down the tables and putting everything away~


[14:37] Chaton Noir: ~finally she boiled water for blackwine, mixed in the powder as it boiled and then carried everything carefully to the longhouse~

Tending to the Animals (17 April)

[16:43] Chaton Noir: Carried a dung sack with her as she walked to the stables and went first to the bosk pen and gathered the dung, she spread it in the sun to dry, laying down the bag she carried armfuls of hay in and piled it where they could reach it easily, spread fresh straw on the ground and filled the water trough, then she brushed them good and finally milked them, carrying the milk pail to the bakery and adding it to the barrel.
[16:50] Chaton Noir: Next she went to the verr pen, first collecting dung and carrying it out to spread in the sun to dry, cleaned out the old straw and replaced it with fresh, spreading it on the ground, she put a pile of hay in along with some grain, added fresh water to the trough and then milked the ewes, carrying the pail to the bakery again.
[16:55] Chaton Noir: Going to the vulo pen she first cleaned the old straw from the ground then raked up the droppings, she replaced the straw with fresh stuff, spread grain around and filled the small water trough, then she collected the eggs and carefully carried them to the bakery.
[16:59] Chaton Noir: She next carried water to the troughs outside the gate, filling each one to the top. then went to the gardens and picked the ripe vegetables, carrying them back to the bakery and putting them away.
[17:02] Chaton Noir: lastly she restocked all the ingredients, refilled the water barrel and churned fresh butter.

dani's First Chores (14 April)

~pulling a fur around her shoulders she steps out of the kennel refreshed, ready for her first day in this new place. she makes her way to the bakery and first cutting off some sa tarna bread and a chunk of cheese she kneels close to the fire and eats. She gulps down some fresh water from a bota and then unsure of her chores she gazes slowly around the room. she adds wood to each of the fires, fills the pots with water, cleans each cooktop and the oven then wipes down the table, chairs and counters. searching for cleaning supplies she finds a broom and sweeps the floor good, sweeping it out the door and then sweeping off the sitting area outside. puts the broom away, gets a bucket and some rags and soap, fills the bucket with hot water and soap then starting at the front, she scrubs the floor on hands and knees. afterwards she pours the bucket out behind the building, rinses it and the rags and replaces them where she found them, then she waits patiently for her new sisters to appear.
