Tending the Animals (27 April)

lil sparrow: wakes up shivering, her sister having stolen the fur, she crawls out and quickly pulls on a clean kirtle and goes downstairs adding a few logs on the fire then, stretching, she yawns and warms herself for a couple of minutes by the fire before opening the heavy wooden door, closing it behind her and runs quickly to the bakery, the morning being particularly chilling so early. Once in the bakery her morning routine begins, first lighting a fire then mixing a large pot of sa tarna and bosk milk, stirring it well and allowing it to boil on the fire. when it's ready ladles it into a big bowl taking out some for herself, and sits it on the counter, she pours some fresh bosk milk and has her breakfast. afterwards she carries a bucket of hot soapy water and the broom upstairs, sweeps and then scrubs the floor dragging the bucket with her she backs down the stairs cleaning each one as she goes. downstairs she sets the bucket aside while she gathers up the pots and pans from last night, washes and dries and then puts them away, wipes down all the tabletops and counters, cleans the oven and fire pits then sweeps up the dirt and dust, throws it in the grass and gets down on hands and knees to scrub the floor, getting up all the footprints making a path through the room. she then sweeps off the stone flooring where the tables sit in front of the bakery, wipes down the tables and chairs, cleans the brush and bucket and puts them all away. relaxing outside before starting the meal she inhales deeply the fresh scent of rain in the air and smiles brightly thinking what a wonderful life she has.~
